Compliance
Informational on-chain data, with compliance built in
BitcoinDatabase provides informational Bitcoin on-chain data and analytics only. It is not financial, investment or legal advice. Our AML and forensics features are compliance tooling: they surface data, risk signals and labels to support your regulated team's own review. You decide. We never accuse, never guarantee identification, and never claim to deanonymize individuals.
Public ledger data only
BitcoinDatabase indexes data parsed from public Bitcoin nodes, the public blockchain since the 2009 genesis block. It is open, on-chain information available to anyone running a node. We do not collect private or off-chain personal data.
Informational, not advice
We provide on-chain data, metrics and risk signals so your team can do its work. We do not provide financial, investment or legal advice, and our data is not a substitute for your own regulated review and judgment.
We surface, you decide
Our AML and forensics features highlight labels, fund flows and risk signals. They support, never replace, your compliance function. Every decision and accusation belongs to you and your regulated process.
What BitcoinDatabase is built for
- Querying on-chain balances, UTXOs and transaction history
- On-chain metrics, analytics and research dashboards
- Powering apps, explorers and internal tools with REST, SQL and webhooks
- Risk signals, entity labels and fund-flow tracing to support a regulated AML team
- Bulk CSV export and reconciliation against the public ledger
What it is not for
- Financial, investment or trading advice
- Legal advice or being the sole basis of a legal or regulatory decision
- Accusing, deanonymizing or guaranteeing the identity of any individual
- Collecting private or off-chain personal data
- Treating a risk signal or label as proof rather than an input to your own review
What the data is
BitcoinDatabase indexes the public Bitcoin blockchain, parsed block by block from public Bitcoin nodes since the 2009 genesis block and reconciled as new blocks confirm, usually within seconds. Every balance, UTXO, transaction, address and on-chain metric we return is derived from this public ledger. It is open information that anyone running a node could compute. We add structure, labels, fund-flow tracing and an API so your team can query it without running infrastructure of your own.
Acceptable use
You decide which addresses, transactions and questions to put to the data, and you are responsible for that choice. You agree to use the service in line with the laws that apply to you, including data protection, privacy and financial regulation. The data we return is informational. You must not treat it as financial, investment or legal advice, and you must not use it as the sole basis for a legal, regulatory or investment decision. Where on-chain data touches an identifiable person, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to process it.
AML and risk signals
Our AML and forensics features are compliance tooling. They surface entity labels, fund-flow paths, exposure to flagged clusters and other risk signals computed from the public ledger. These are inputs to support a regulated compliance team's own review, not conclusions. A risk signal or label is a starting point for investigation, never an accusation, a verdict, or proof that a specific individual did anything. We make no guarantee about identifying or deanonymizing any person, and you must apply your own regulated process, judgment and controls before acting.
We surface, you decide
The dividing line is simple. We surface data and signals; your compliance function decides. BitcoinDatabase will tell you that an address has exposure to a labeled cluster or that funds flowed along a particular path. It will not tell you what that means for a customer, whether to file a report, or who is behind an address. Those determinations are yours to make under your own policies and obligations.
Privacy
The on-chain data we index is public ledger data. We do not buy private datasets, scrape personal records, or attempt to attach real-world identities to addresses. Account data you give us, such as your email, is handled in line with our privacy policy. We do not sell your data and we do not train third-party models on your queries. The results you generate are yours.
Not advice
Nothing on this site or returned by the API is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation. On-chain figures and metrics are informational and can change as the chain reorganizes or new blocks confirm. Always apply your own analysis and, where appropriate, consult a qualified professional before making any decision.
In short. Informational public-ledger data and analytics only, not financial, investment or legal advice. AML features surface risk signals to support your regulated review: we surface, you decide. No accusations, no deanonymization claims. Questions? Email team@bitcoindatabase.com.
