Scorechain is a multichain compliance platform with its own entity attribution, dashboards and case tooling sold by quote, while BitcoinDatabase is a Bitcoin-only index whose Enterprise plan screens addresses against the OFAC SDN XML, traces one and two hop exposure with the transaction behind every finding, and keeps a screening book that is rescreened whenever the list changes, at a published monthly price.

Why teams pick BitcoinDatabase

The fully indexed Bitcoin blockchain, queryable by REST, SQL and dashboards

What Scorechain sells and how it prices

Scorechain, founded in 2015 and hosted in an EU private cloud with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, sells wallet screening, transaction monitoring, flux analysis, token and stablecoin monitoring, a VASP due diligence directory and an AI assistant, through a dashboard, REST API, SDK and webhooks. Its pricing page publishes principles, not numbers: price depends on transaction volume, number of users and compliance goals, and the route is a demo call. The one public price we found is the Scorechain Risk Assessment add-on on QuickNode, listed from $50 a month, with Starter at 100 checks, Growth at 1,000 and Business at 10,000 checks a month and a 10 requests per second limit, per its add-on docs on 7 October 2026.

How our Bitcoin screening differs

GET /v1/screen/{address} on the Enterprise plan matches the address against every entry of the newest OFAC SDN list we hold, read from the structured XML because the CSV truncates crypto addresses. It then reads the address history for direct counterparties in both directions and the funding transactions behind its inbound coins for two-hop exposure, and returns a risk level with each finding tied to a txid, hop and direction. The answer names the list version and block it was made against and says how much of the history it read, so a partial trace is never passed off as clean. POST /v1/screening/book adds up to 1,000 addresses per call, and the whole book is rescreened whenever a new list version arrives.

Where Scorechain is the better buy

Pick Scorechain if you need risk categories beyond sanctions: mixers, darknet markets, scams and gambling services attributed across many chains, plus case management and a dashboard for analysts who do not write code. Our labels are deliberately small and sourced, and we do not cluster addresses by heuristics, so we will not tell you an address belongs to a darknet market. Pick BitcoinDatabase if your exposure is Bitcoin, your control is SDN screening at onboarding and on withdrawal, and you want a published price, thousands of screenings a second and the transactions behind every hit in your file. Many teams run both: a broad vendor for attribution and our book for high-volume SDN screening and evidence.

Good questions

Scorechain vs BitcoinDatabase, answered

Scorechain does not publish direct prices. Its pricing page says cost depends on transaction volume, number of users and compliance goals, and asks you to book a demo. Through QuickNode, the Scorechain Risk Assessment add-on is listed from $50 a month, with plans of 100, 1,000 and 10,000 checks a month, as read on 7 October 2026.
Yes. Scorechain offers a REST API, an SDK and webhooks next to its dashboard, and a Risk Assessment API sold as a QuickNode add-on that screens wallets and transactions across 24 plus mainnets at up to 10 requests per second. BitcoinDatabase screens Bitcoin addresses with GET /v1/screen/{address} at 10 credits per call.
Yes. Bitcoin is one of the 25 plus blockchains Scorechain covers, alongside Ethereum, Tron, Solana, XRP Ledger, Litecoin and others. BitcoinDatabase covers only Bitcoin, which is why it can return the full transaction evidence behind a finding and state exactly how much of an address history a screening read.
For broad multichain attribution, Chainalysis, TRM Labs and Elliptic are the usual comparisons. For Bitcoin-only sanctions screening with a published price, a screening book rescreened on every OFAC list update and the txid behind every hit, BitcoinDatabase is the closer fit. Many compliance teams pair a broad vendor with a cheaper high-volume screen.
532 unique Bitcoin addresses in the SDN XML published 5 October 2026, from 534 identifiers typed XBT. One of those, TUCsTq7TofTCJRRoHk6RvhMoS2mJLm5Yzq, is actually a Tron address, so 531 are valid Bitcoin mainnet addresses. On 7 October 2026, 87 of them still held 9,305.64204431 BTC.
Not on its own. OFAC expects firms to block listed addresses and to use the listed ones to find related addresses that carry sanctions risk. That is why our screening also reads direct and two-hop counterparties. Risk categories such as mixers or darknet markets need attribution data from a vendor like Scorechain.
Yes. Add up to 1,000 addresses per POST to the screening book on Enterprise. We fetch the SDN XML twice a day and rescreen every book entry when a new version is published, and GET /v1/screening/book?changed=1 returns only the entries whose risk changed.
Scorechain offers demos booked through its site, and its pricing page does not list a self-serve trial. BitcoinDatabase has a one-time demo in the query console on this page, and the Enterprise plan with the AML module starts the same day by card, with no sales call.
No. BitcoinDatabase provides informational on-chain data and compliance tooling only. A risk signal is context for your own review, not a legal determination about anyone. Scorechain facts on this page were read from scorechain.com, docs.scorechain.com and quicknode.com on 7 October 2026 and may change. Scorechain is a trademark of its owner.
